The Embrace

Held tenderly,
Thoughtfully caring
Arms encircling,
Kissing lightly

While fireflies
Send their luminous
Signals to procure
Their mates

The summer's start
Is uneasy,
Sheet lightning
Illuminates the black sky

And I fall,
Trusting I will be caught,
Liberated from
Pain or travail.
