Silken rose petals
Heady aroma filling
Senses with desire

Pink and red mingle
Like lovers in heightened throes
Entwined then apart

Hidden danger waits
Concealed thorns will injure
Heed the subtle fore

For love is not all
Valleys come and lovers fall
I’m alone once more
