Be Rooted and Grow

A leaf falls gently to the ground,
Leaving the perch
Where it served its purpose
For an entire season.

The tree still stands,
With limbs outstretched,
Reaching for the stratosphere,
With no limits, it will grow.

A ray of sun touches its crown,
Hope shimmers
In broader discoveries,
Higher heights it soon will know.

From whence that leaf did fall,
Two will take its place,
The roots grow ever stronger,
Spreading deeply into the earth below.

Steadily, with much aplomb,
The tree is certain what it must do,
Giving back endlessly,
And life is surely the reason.
