Summer's Torrents

I rush in, no warning given,
A sudden wave of cold slices through the heavy air.

Letting loose, I unleash fury,
Pummelling the earth in blinding waves.

The rumbling is not so distant now,
It is upon me and I must follow it.

Moving fast, the canopy roils angrily,
A sudden and ominous darkening.

As my brow furrows,
The drops freeze, leaving damage in their path.

And in an astonishing heartbeat, I am finished,
Only a pale glow is left behind.
