Indelible

Clear blue mostly,
Only a sip of cloud ~
Two gulls swirled high
In aimless circles
Almost invisible
To the naked eye

Sun catching pure feathers
Was their giveaway

On another plane,
A pair of herons
Glided gracefully by;
Wingspans outstretched,
Tips spread for lift,
Legs long and spry...

In silent flight they went,
Two in perfect harmony

Frozen swamp now thawed,
Water sparkling blue,
Surface ripples pass us by,
Blackbirds alight,
Red markings bright,
Courting mallards fly...

Nature’s circle renewed,
Spring emerges, ardently.
